Breathers find usage in distribution, power, freight, busduct and special purpose transformers. Weight wise the range falls from 250 gms to 15 kgs in single piece transparent tube. These breathers are manufactures as per our standard drawings, customer drawings or DIN standard (DIN 42562 and 42567). Breathers are tested and certified by test houses for performance.
Use of breather
Insulating oils require protection from humidity. The highest degree of de-humidification ensures better die-electric values. Transformers use insulating oils to keep the instrument temperature under control along with other electrical properties. The quantity of oil filled into a transformer is constantly expanding and contracting due to volumetric changes brought in by thermal heating and cooling during loading and no load condition. The expansion in a container expels air outside and contraction rushes air inside. Silicagel is a chemical having unique property of absorbing moisture from air. A breather filled with silicagel is used on each transformer to absorb entire moisture from the air entering the conservator during breathing or contraction period.
